The exhibition devoted to an image of the Mother of God will last in Old Ladoga until the end of October
The remarkable exhibition devoted to one of the central images of church art of Russia - the image of the Mother of God - takes place this fall in the Old Ladoga architectural memorial estate. Within the similar actions the richest stocks of objects of art hidden in storages of memorial estate become available to lovers of the Russian culture. The exhibition devoted to an image of the Mother of God will take place in the museum until the end of October.
The objects of art presented at an exhibition in Old Ladoga belong to the period from the 18th to 20th centuries. Among them visitors will find both numerous icons, and various church utensils and the books, which were earlier used for holding church services. All exhibits are objects from storage of the museum.
Each of exhibits allows to open a role and an image of the Mother of God in the Russian church art in aspect of its honoring more deeply. Various interpretations of an image will allow visitors of an exhibition to build more integral portrait of this character and to learn many interesting facts about it. The developed descriptions to exhibits will help guests of an exhibition to truly estimate a role of the Mother of God in Evangelical history.
