The exhibition of paintings by Alexander Gaylis will take place in Old Ladoga
The Old Ladoga memorial estate continues to please judges of art with interesting activities, suitable for family visit. For example, from October, 13 to November, 7 there will be an exhibition of paintings by the artist Alexander Gaylis, whose works were carefully kept by his family. This painter of the Ukrainian origin spent a considerable part of his life in the Leningrad Region, in the city of Volkhov, where he moved with family in 1978.
His internal search and the way of the artist are accurately reflected in Gaylis's works. His works were created in different genres, however he obviously gave preference to landscapes, including city. It is visible that it was interesting for him to draw the things that surrounded him. The paintings by this master have a special flavor, be this image of monastic walls or the abandoned industrial shops.
The special role in Gaylis's painting was played by color including in abstract compositions without obvious plot. Colors served as the tool for expression of mood of the artist – they both pacify and excite mind.
Also it will be possible to see portraits and stilllifes by the painter and estimate their unique stylistic character, try to notice together with the artist something outstanding in absolutely usual things, see metaphoricalness of his works.
The exhibition will take place in archaeological memorial estate Old Ladoga from October ,13 to November, 7.
